Joseph Redhead is Vice President of Major Projects and leads the firm’s Caribbean team in Ottawa, drawing on more than 30 years of experience in project management, global operations and business capture in multiple sectors in markets that span the Caribbean and Asia.
Mr. Redhead advises and assists companies in Canada and across the Caribbean and Central America on entry and growth strategies by identifying business opportunities, assessing the regulatory environment, evaluating risks, and establishing strategic partnerships. He also participates in the firm’s management and new client development efforts and brings a wealth of experience in how to do business with international financial institutions (IFIs).
Prior to joining the firm, he served as Vice-President, International Development with the 5th largest Canadian engineering-construction firm and one ranked 57th in the world at the time. In this capacity, he was responsible for securing and overseeing the execution of contracts in the environment, municipal, energy, coastal protection, and transportation sectors in the Caribbean, many of which were valued in excess of $8 million primarily financed by IFI’s such as the World Bank, Caribbean Development Bank, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and aid agencies in Canada and Denmark.
Earlier in his career, in the mid-1980s, he operated a consulting practice advising various entities in CIDA’s Asia Branch on the planning, design, execution and monitoring of water management projects in countries such as Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Mr. Redhead earned a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba, Canada, specializing in water resources management. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago campus.
