The Allam Advisory Group is a international consulting firm based in Canada that provides international business advisory and commercial diplomacy services to private and public sector clients worldwide. With a global footprint, we service clients in Canada, the United States, and work actively in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South America and Asia-Pacific. In other words we help organizations at every turn during their international export development and investment attraction journey.

About the Role

AAG is currently recruiting and accepting applications from around the world to express their interest in joining the Global Advisory Board to guide the company into its exciting future. As a Board Advisor you are strongly committed to the AAG vision, mission and values, have strong personal and professional integrity, and have experience with, or are comfortable with, the governance — as opposed to management role.

We are not just looking for a Board Advisor, but a globally minded entrepreneurial leader who wants to give back and mentor, and is looking to help grow and build an industry leading business that is disrupting the global management consulting world. We are seeking a passionate and well-connected Board Advisor with a track record of success who can think outside the box to help grow the business. You will be getting in on the C-suite floor of a company whose trajectory is very positive. This is a new frontier — exciting, fast-paced and deeply rewarding for those who welcome a challenge.

About the Global Business Advisory Board

The Global Business Advisory Board position will help strengthen the AAG’s business plan, explore business opportunities for the organization, and assist in building and expanding opportunities for growth both domestically and internationally. The Board will support the work of AAG and provide mission based leadership and strategic governance. While day to day operations are led by the Chief Executive Officer, the Advisory Board-CEO relationship is a partnership and the appropriate involvement of the board is both critical and expected.

Desired Skills and Experience

We’re focused on culture and diversity first. We want someone with a soul. Someone who does the right thing. Someone without ego. The baseline: candidates need to have a minimum of 15 years of experience in either senior management, international business, export development, foreign foreign direct investment attractions, foreign affairs/diplomacy or management consulting.

We are looking for candidates with experience in several key areas including: 

+ International Business Development with experience doing business in the United States, Canada, Europe, Middle East, and Asia

+ Government Relations and Corporate Affairs in the United States and Canada

+ International Trade and Investment Law

+ Global Marketing, Branding and Communications

Previous board experience is not mandatory but highly valued. The strength, depth and diversity of your global network across the United States, Canada, Europe and the Middle East in the private sector and public sector is essential.
