Dr. Anna Biolik works with the Global Market Expansion Practice in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. As a former Canadian Ambassador and diplomat, she has over 30 years of public and private sectors experience in diplomacy, international commerce, trade policy, and international governmental affairs.
Dr. Biolik is a trusted advisor to leading public and private sector clients around the world. She supports her clients predominantly on (a) promoting commercial interests in a global economic environment, b) intercultural effectiveness, and c) building international networks and providing advice regarding foreign investment opportunities.
She has extensive expertise in international commerce and is able to support client needs from a number of perspectives, including practical advice on foreign markets, market potential assessment, development of international business contacts and strategic partnerships, negotiations of agreements and contracts in foreign jurisdictions.
Dr. Biolik’s expertise and passion lies in supporting clients with the development of export and investment plans, corporate social responsibility, and government/public relations. She helps clients with geopolitical and economic risk assessments, evaluations of business opportunities, commercial agreement negotiations, in-market high-level representation and advocacy.
Dr. Biolik has worked with companies in many different industries, including oil and gas, mining, forestry, energy and environmental technologies, ICT, aerospace, transportation, and education services. Her geographic areas of expertise include: Europe (Western, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia in particular) and Asia (Central Asia, Northeast Asia, ASEAN countries, Australia and New Zealand).
Dr. Biolik’s work has focused on advising government and corporate executives on international business development strategies and partnerships across multiple sectors and in number of overseas markets. Her key international assignments include the positions of Canada’s Consul General in St. Petersburg, Russia, Canadian Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan as well as the position of the first Canadian Ambassador resident in Mongolia. Among her recent projects, Dr. Biolik was instrumental in helping Canadian mining companies with their export and foreign investment activities in Mongolia.
During her career with the Government of Canada, she has served as Senior Advisor for international relations and parliamentary affairs to the Governor General of Canada, European Marketing Manager for Canada Post, Senior Manager at Investment Partnerships Canada and Director of the International Business Opportunities Centre in Ottawa.
Outside AAG, Dr. Biolik serves as external member of the Program and Research Council at Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC and as Canadian Board Director to the North-America-Mongolia Business Council.
She hold a Ph.D. from the University of Montreal and is fluent in English, French, Russian and Polish, and has good understanding of Italian and Ukrainian.
